The Michelin Guide's review
This museum, established in a former antinuclear bunker, illustrates all the aspects of traditional life in a typical West Highlands village. You will see the workings of Rubha Rèidh lighthouse and the life of its guardians, the interior of a characteristic black house of the crofts, work in the peatbogs and a fascinating film during which senior citizens speak about the changes since the 1960s in their region. A 6C Pictish stone engraved with a salmon and an eagle is another highlight of the collection.
