Fermanagh

Well worth the diversions
Natural site
The Michelin Guide's review
A lovely region of lakes, forests and hills, off the beaten tourist track, Fermanagh stretches as far as the border with the Republic of Ireland. Enniskillen, its "capital", is nestled between the two parts of Lough Erne, a body of water almost 80km long; the lough is watered by the River Erne and dotted with wooded islands. This landscape, which is reminiscent of Scandinavia, is a paradise for nature lovers, walkers, anglers and pleasure boaters.
