Hotelier John Monroe Davis began to amass guns when he was 7 years old. When his collection of 20,000 guns, 1,200 steins, 70 saddles and 600 World War I posters began to consume the old Mason Hotel, the state took it over. This 40,000sq-ft building now displays everything from a Chinese cannon to elephant and whaling guns.
