The Michelin Guide's review
Driving to the top of the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi is an ear-popping ride around hairpin turns with amazing views of the landscape below. From atop the 6,684ft peak unfolds a haunting scene of wind-stunted trees, ravaged by air pollution, acid rain and an aphid-like insect called the Balsam Woolly Adelgid.
