The Michelin Guide's review
Côte-de-Beaupré is a strip of land between the Laurentides and the north bank of the St Lawrence River. It stretches from Montmorency Falls to the Cap Tourmente range (660m), with the Île d'Orléans on the horizon. When he set eyes on the green land by the river, Jacques Cartier is said to have exclaimed, "Quel beau pré!" ("What a lovely meadow!"). Visit the villages dating back to the French Régime, the Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré pilgrimage site and Mont-Sainte-Anne ski resort.
