Built to host the main sporting disciplines of the 1992 Olympic Games, it occupies a vast esplanade on the upper part of the Montjuïc. The Olympic Stadium and the Sant Jordi Palace, a multi-purpose venue designed by great Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, form the heart of this area dedicated entirely to sport. Other interesting buildings include the INEFC Pavilion (University for Sport) and the great telecommunications tower.
