The Michelin Guide's review
The Maryland Historical Society's extensive collections are displayed over three levels in two buildings connected by a footbridge, one old, one modern. You'll find a wonderful survey of the works of the Peale family: the father, Charles Willson, and sons, James, Titian, Rubens, Raphaelle and Rembrandt, are among the nation's most famous painters. The main building is home to the original manuscript of the national anthem: Francis Scott Key's The Star-Spangled Banner.
