Badajoz Cathedral
Michelin Guide
Religious monument
The Michelin Guide's review
The Gothic cathedral was built in the 13C, but heavily reworked in the plateresque style during the Renaissance. The fine and intense decoration of the friezes and the windows contrasts with the high, apparently fortified tower. In the middle of the central nave stands the enclosure reserved for the clergy, an imposing coro whose stalls were sculpted in 1557. The sacristy contains six Flemish tapestries (17C).
