This neo-Gothic castle is no longer open to visitors, but one of its outhouses is home to the Museum of the Isles - Clan MacDonald Centre, which charts the history of the "Sea Kingdom", when the Lords of the Isles and Gaelic culture reigned supreme. The historic estate offers a variety of walks in the woods, nature trails, an arboretum and views over the Sound of Sleat. The grounds also host interesting events such as bagpipe concerts and archery and falconry displays.
