Michelin Guide
Well worth the diversions
Historical and archaeological site
The Michelin Guide's review
Situated on a rocky promontory dominated by the snowy peaks of Akdag and Kizlar Sivrisi (both over 3,000m), the ancient town of Arycanda faces a spectacularly beautiful panorama. The ruins of the town are well preserved, starting with the theatre that is shaded by pine trees and unfolds over a sweeping view of the mountains. A visit to the site will reveal baths, a necropolis and an agora, but your eyes will be drawn time and time again to the scenery itself, which is simply stunning.
